Conventions of an ident - P2

What makes a TV ident is having a logo for your channel and also have the name of the channel in your ident so that your audience has a reminder on what channel they are watching in. Like for ITV 2 in their TV ident they have the name of the channel and the logo.
The ident usually is 5 seconds long so that it's quick but also gets the audience's attention to make them keep watching.

TV idents will also have continuity and advert breaks. This has a voice over with music in the background explaining to the audience what they're watching next. In ITV 2 they had a voiceover with the channels name and also the name of the programme for e.g., "ANT & DEC'S SATURDAY NIGHT TAKEAWAY" and what time it will come on. Giving the audience something to look forward to. Also, when it comes to the voiceovers it would be someone regional and upbeat so that it can relate to the programmes that ITV 2 has on.
